Editors Allen and Smith, over in
Worth, are sharpening their quills
for the removal question, which
seems very likely to come upon
them. If it is not solved at an early
date, the people should build an elec

put a quietus upon it.

Court opened last Monday on time,
with the usual number of lawyers.
Judge Bower gave a lengthy charge
in regard to a court house, and I
think in the right place, for the
courthouse is a disgrace to the coun
ty. The civil docket occupied the
court until Thursday, and there are
several old cases that have seen two
court houses disappear, at last dis
posed of.
The following criminal cases were
disposed of:
State vs. Warren Adams—Charged
with burglary; verdict, guilty; sen
tence, one year in chain gang.
State vs. Lee Leonard—Aiding
prisoners to escape; verdict, guilty;
sentence, one year in penitentiary.
Statu vs. Ed Lamon—Larceny
from the house; plea, guilty; sentence,
twelve months in chain gang.
State vs. West Turner—Ilog steal
ing; verdict, guilty; sentence, twelve
months in chain gang.
State vs. James Daniels—Burgla
ry; verdict, guilty; sentence, five years
in penitentiary.
State vs. Jim McLeod—Burglary;
plea of guilty; sentence, one year in
penitentiary.
State vs. Sam McDonold—Burgla
ry; plea of guilty; sentence, four
years in penitentiary.
State vs. Frank Merchant - As
sault to murder, settled.
About twenty bills of indictment
were found by the grand jury.
Sheriff Nelson kept flying around
with his accustomed fast trot, and
our clerk, C. G. Tipton, appeared to
get along just as if there was no
court going on at all. It don’t ap
pear to tear Bunk up, though ho has
been before the people so long that
they all know him. Turner Bess,

How to Prevent Croup.
Some reading that will prove interest

against the disease.
Croup is a terror to young mothers,
and to post them concerning tho enuse,
first symptoms, and treatment is tho oh-
joct of tills item. Tho origin of croup is
a common cold. Children who are sub
ject to it take cold very easily and croup
is almost sure to follow. The first symp
tom is hoarseness; this is soon followed
by a peculiar rough cough, which is
easily recognized and will never bo for
gotten by one who has heard it. The
time to act is when tho chilli first be
comes hoarse. If Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy is freely given, all tendency to
croup wilt soon disappear. Even after
tile croupy cough lias developed it will
