She Wins in Vortli by a Small
Majority, .
The Empire Garden Midnammer
Fair will be held at the Fair Grounds
in Tlfton on Wednesday Thursday
and Friday, July 15th, 16th, and lVtu.
The exhibits. will eclipse all those
of previous years, that wire conceded
to have been the finest collections of
fruits ever seen in the south. The
success of previous years only serves
to spur the management to redoubled
efforts, and as a result several new
features will be added this year that
will place the fair far ahead of its
predecessors.
Tho attendance will be large
from tho northern and western states,
and th* low rates over railway lines
will bo taken advantage of by home-
seekers and prospective settlers to
come and look orer our country and
acquaint themselvo with our wonder
ful resources. Tho opportunity for
advertising your farms and cli
mate was never better than that of
fered by our Midsummer Fair. The
capital invested in an exhibit there will
roturn to your pocket three-fold, and
bo of untold good to your country.
Premium list will be large and va
ried, and issued at an early date. The
Fair will be thoroughly advertised
through every section of tho country.

Isabella, Ga., April 4.—Approx
imated, close count,gives Isabella 204,
Sylvester, 560; Poulan, 630. W.
This vote was very light, about
1,800 having registered. Poulan will
now probably follow the precedent in
the Fannin county case, and apply to
the legislature for removal gf coart-
house from Isabella to that point,
naving received a majority of the
two-thirds vote cast for removal.
Judge B.B,Bower has tendered his
resignation as jndge of the Albany
judicial circuit, to take effect April
9th, and will enter actvely into the
congressional race. For years Judge
Bower has served bis state and peo
ple ably and honorably on the bench,

be recieved with universal regret,

No Breaking Ranks.
We regret exceedingly to observe
a tendency among some of our con
temporaries to keep harping on mi
nor matters and fostering the seeds
of dissension within the ranks of the
democratic party. We can less af
ford a division now than at any time
since the days of reconstruction. It
is absolutely essential to our com
plete success that there be no break
ing ranks within the party lines. If
we continue to present a solid front
we are stronger than we ever were.
There is no jise in harboring th e
thought that a democrat can step
aside in this campaign and affiliate
with some alieu party for the con
summation of some pet scheme, and
remain a recognized democrat, re
turning to the fold after the battle is
fought and won or lost.
The man who, for any cause what
soever, leaves the democratic camp
and consorts with some other party,
no matter by what name it may be
called, is lost to democracy.
The only safe course to pursue by
those who really have the interests of
the party of the people at heart, is to
stand by and stick to democracy to
the end. Differences of opinion exist
among the subscribers to all creeds;
it is tho general good that should be
aimed at by all.—Rome Tribune.
