The Fitzgerald Driving Associa
tion will take a trip to Savannah,
accompanied by the band, on the
6th. A trip to Macon and Atlanta
is also contemplated. It is for ad
vertising purposes.
Fitzgerald continues to receive
new emigrants daily. They come
from Kansas, Nebraska, Ohio and
otner middle western states. A largo
immigration is expected, now that
the election is over.
Fitzgerald’s new hotel, now being
built, is to have accommodations for
300 guests. It will bo 210 feet long
with two wings 128 and 110 feet in
length. Its main tower will be 110
feet from the ground.

I have been luboring as a farmer
for the past twenty-five years, and
at odd times contributed lo news
papers, and after all my pains to
know something of farming, and my
hours of practice to make my chirog-
raphy readable, what a dance the
public, who read iny article last
week, will think I am to adviso them
to “bunk their seed corn.” The same
typo makes me say “Dr. D. P. Luke,”
when it should have been Mrs. D.
P. Luke.
Now, if this thing doesn’t stop, I
am going to emigrate to Tifton some
time in the near hence and eat up a
smoked Herring, or Iry Hanlon a

While enjoying the sweets at the
cane grinding at Mr. Janies Luke’s
lust Friday evening, the mule I had
driven there loosed her luxlter and
ran away, completely tearing up the
wagon. I had to borrow a wagon to
finish hauling my cotton to gin, that

Mr. Solomon Griffin and family

Yesterday and to-day were real
busy days in Nnshvillo. Yesterday
was the day for Ordinary’s and Coun
ty Commissioners’ court, and to-day

sons being given by Prof. Skinner at
tho Baptist church has been going on.
