At Sparks on lost Sunday evening
a very peculiar incident occured. A
young gentleman of the chivnrous
kind was out riding with a young
lady who had recently moved to
town, when something crossed their
path in such a manner as to be run
over. At Hrst they thought the
something a “thing of beauty,” they
attempted to catch it, They did iiot
catch it. It was soon discovered that
this was a thing of odor. Another
thing was discovered, the thing was
not stingy with its odor, but like the
rose, gavo it to the breezes. The
young people came back to town
with clothes perfumed, knowing that
they had seen a skunk. How long
will the young people be so easily
taken in by beauty! A. H. C.
