Mrs. Owens, widow of tb« late
Major D. J. Owens, th« well-known
traveling salesman, whose bourn in
near Ty Ty, happened to a serioui
accident Saturday last.
As she was driving to cbnrch, a
bolt wbioh fastened w* ehafte of her
baggy to the axle dropped ont and
the shafts fell and struck the feet of
the horse, causing him to ran. Be
had only gone a short distance when
the buggy struck a tree, throwing
Mrs. Owens ont, and dragging her
several feet.
Her left arm was broken is three
plaoes, and ber right knes knocked
ont of joint, beside* several bruises
on her body. While her injnrlea are
very serious, thpj are not ooosWered

was destroyed by fire Monday night
last. Dr. Julian was away from
home at the time, and the origin of
the fin is unknown. The loss was
total, and included a lot of clothing
in the office.
