Sheep Owners Will Meet in Tifton
June 28th.
As has been their custom for many
years, the wool-growers of this sec

ed to sell their year's clip. They
are met here by buyeis from all sec
tions of the state and representatives
of the large export. firmB, and tbe
price received is always considera
bly above the market, as the amouDt
sold is large and the delivery prompt.
This year the clip from this sec
tion will bo augmented by that of
Mr. IV. C. Sumner and his sons, of
west Florida, who moved their sheep
to that section over a year ago.
The amount on hand will proba
bly be 25,000 pounds or more, and
the day will be quite an event for
Tifton.
A Good Oat Crop,
Rev. IV. IV. Webb gathered this
year, from uine and oue-half acres
in oats, 5,000 bundles, weighing an
average of five pounds to the bun
dle, or 25,000 pounds from the 0)
acres.
A few loads brought to town sold
readily at $1 per hundred, and at
this rate Mr, Webb’s crop, one of
tbe easiest he says he ever made in
his life, would be worth $250.
And this was raised without a
pound of fertilizer, from land which
was planted in cottou last year.
How is that for a Tift county crop?

that day, as he nos one of tho pall
bearers at the funeral of his friend,

Mr. Hall has agreed to come to
Tifton Saturday of next week, June
ICth, and will speak at 2 o’clock in
the afternoon.
This will be a notable day in Tif
ton, for according to previous ar
rangement, Editor J. H. Estill will
speak at 12 o’oiock, followed imme
diately by Hon. T. S. Morgan, of
Savannah, who speaks in the inter
est of Mr. Estill’s candidacy.
Col. Hall is well known os a deep
thinker and gifted orator, and to
hear him is worth traveling many
miles.
Editor Estill is one of the leading
newspaper men of tbe state, and ha3
been a prominent factor in South
Georgia’s development. He has
caught on quiokly to the art of the
stumj) speech and talks entertaining
ly and to tbe point.
Col. Morgan is one of tbe most
entertaining stump speakers of tho
campaign. Eloquent and witty, with
keeu sarcasm, his addresses are
adding much ginger to the guberna
torial race.
It is not often the people of Tift
county have an opportunity of hear
ing suoh gifted speakers or listening
to men who have been more promi
nently identified with the develop
ment of the state.
There will be no conflict at all as
to time or place, Mr. Estill begin-
niog at 12 o’elook and followed im
mediately by Mr. Morgan, and Mr,
Hall beginning at 2, sharp.
