A TIRED HORSE
Is just as able to do hard work as a man with an exhausted,
torpid liver. Constipation drags a long train of troubles
behind it. The machinery can’t work if the boiler doesn’t
make steam to move it. If the stomach and liver don’t do
their work, the body and brain can’t do their duty.
Lamar’s Lemon Laxative makes thirds right.

In the city court, R. A. Keith

The damage suit of J. H. O’Quinn

but after going into the case, and
having examined and cross-exam

the attorneys for plaintiff had the

Valdosta, Ga., June 1C—All of the
grading on the Georgia and Florida
road from here to Nashville has been
completed and the work of laying
rails began to-day. The first two
carloads arrived last week. They
are eighty-pound steel rails and are
to be laid on heavy ties. The work
of surfacing thfc track will begin at
once and it is expected that trains
will be running between Valdosta
and Nashville within two months.
Speaking of the result of the re
cent primary, Mr. Thos. E. Watson
gives, among many, the following
reason for Mr. Brown’s victory:
•‘If we were asked to put a finger
on the secrets of Joe Brown’s
phenomenal success, we should first
cf all mention the perfect propriety
of his own conduct, throughout the
campaign, and the excellent quality

the town for fire protection as well

that the town could utilize the two

Valdosta, Ga., June 16.—Valdosta
is in the throes of religious excite
ment. Two revival meetings are in
full blast, one at the Methodist
church and the other at the Baptist
Tabernacle. Rev. J. M. Bass, evan

Methodist church. He is assisted by
Prof. Milam, singer, a cornet, two
violins, piano, small organ, Lig pipe
organ, a choir of grown folks and
choir of children, each of fifty
voices. At the Baptist Tabernacle
Rev. Rogers Wright is doing the
preaching and is assisted by Miss
Gloer, of Atlanta, who is leading
the song services. A chorus of one
hundred voices is also. helping
The Tabernacle meeting consumes
almost every hour in the day. A
dozen young ministers from the
country around have been brought
here and are assisting in neighbor
hood meetings, cottage prayer-meet
ings, etc. The meetings will con
tinue for a week or two yet.
Governor Smith is suffering with
a carbuncle on his head. If the Gov
ernor had been allowed to locate the
carbuncle he probably would not
have put it on his head, especially at
a time when he has so much work
for that member to do. But there
are no good places on the human
body for carbuncles and boils. And
just here we ore reminded of the ex
perience of our old friend, John M.
Witt, who came from Edgefield, S.
C., and located at Quitman, in
Brooks county, soon after the Civil
War, as we heard him relate it. He
had suffered a series of boils. They
came in rapid succession, and wher
ever one appeared it seemed to him
that it was in the worst place possi

What Thia Tifton Citizen Say* Only
Corrobormtaa the Story ot Thousand*.
The particulars related by this
representative citizen of Tiffon are
similar .to hundreds of others in this
city. When there are scores of peo
ple, all anxious to tell about the
benefits received from the use of
Doan’s Kidney Pills, the greatest
skeptic in Tifton must be convinced.
Read the following;
T. 0. Kennedy, living on Third St„
Tifton, Ga., says: "I have used
Doan’s Kidney Pills and can recom
mend them very highly. They
proved beneficial to me in every way,
and since using them I am fe ”

like a different man. For several
months I had been subject <to con
stant backaches and there was also a
lameness and soreness across my
kidney regions. Sharp, shooting
pains would pass through my loins
when I stooped or lifted anything,
and mornings upon first arising my
back would he so lame and sore that
I could scarcely get around. The
secretions from my kidneys contained
a sediment, and were much too fre
quent in action. I finally began
using Doan's Kidney Pills, which I
obtained at Mills Drug Co., and am
pleased to state that I have not had
a backache since., The lameness and
soreness across my kidney regions
has vanished, the secretions have be
come clear, and the kidneys have
been restored to their normal and
natural condition. Doan’s Kidney
Pills proved to be the best kidney
remedy I ever used, and you are
welcome to publish this statement
in their favor.”

What John Tempi. Don't Know.
From The Augusta Chronicle.
The New York American—which
paper recently signed Georgia’s
star journalistic shortstop, the Hon.
John Temple Graves—at a salary
of $10,000 per year—comes for
ward with an editorial explana
tion of the result of last Thursday’s
gubernatorial primary in Georgia.
But for the fact that the editorial
in question is not a verbal hemor

Temple wrote it. That being the
case, we figure that, at the $10,000-

had thought that if he could only
have one come on the top of his head
he would not ask it any odds.
Finally, he said, ‘One of the things

head, and dom'ifl could shut my
eyes in two weeks it was the worst
yet; and 1 tell you now the only good
place to have a boil is on some other
