Mrs. R. O. Kenney and grand
daughter, little Miss Mary Miller,
after spending several days with
her son, Mr. W. W. Reynolds,

Mrs. A. R. Royal, of Abbeville,
has rented the Sanders Gibbs house
and with her two daughters will

mother of Mr. A. R. Royal, of
Churchwell Brothers, and we give
them a cordial welcome to our city,

day, It was bid in by Mr. J. E. Ab

Despite the fact that it was Satur
day night, a good crowd gathered at
the school auditorium to hear Col.
Geo. W. Bain. His lecture was a
very fine one, and highly satisfactory
to his audience. With the College
Girls and Col. Bam, the Lyceum
have given us two excellent num
bers.
Owing to the death of her mother,
and the necessity of her presence at
home, Miss Evelyn Carlton has been
forced to resign her position on the
faculty of the Tifton Public School.
She will remain until the vacancy
can be filled. Both faculty and pu
pils, as well as the entire Tifton citi
zenship, exceedingly regret to lose
this talented young woman.
Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Bowyer de
parted Thursday for Oklahoma and
other points west. They will be
gone a month, Mr. Bowyer taking a
well-earned vacation. Mr. T.
Holmes will relieve Mr. Bowyer at
the Union station. Mr. Holmes re
turned from Sopperton Thursday
morning where he spent over a
month at the bed side of his wife.

Capt. A. McIntosh, of Ocala, Fla.,
is spending the week with Dr. and
Mrs. O. Lee Chesnutt, on his re
turn from the reunion of the North
Carolina Confederates at Norfolk,
Virginia.
Mrs. Harmon and daughter, Miss
Mattie, who spent last week in Tif
ton the guests of Mrs. Harmon’s
daughter, Mrs. J. B. Greene, J
left Saturday for Crosland, where
she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Mc-
Hargue. They were accompanied
by Mrs. Greene, who spent Sunday
in Crosland.
Mrs. H. H. Tift, Mrs. Nichols Pe
terson, Mrs. W. W. Banks and Mrs.
J. C. Smith left Tuesday for Athens,
where they represent the Twentieth
Century Library Club of Tifton, at
he State Federation of Women’s
Clubs, which met in that city Wed
nesday. The Tifton ladies have
splendid reports to make of their
work.
Mrs. E. C. Harrell entertained the
Card Club at their regular weekly
meeting Tuesday afternoon in a
most charming manner. Pink roses
were used in quantities, and two ta
bles for the games, which were very
interesting. The top score was
made by Mrs. H. S. Murray, the
prize being a beautiful piece of
hand-painted china. A delicious ice
course was served at the close of the
games. Besides the regular mem
bers several invited guests were
present. The Club will be enter
tained by Mrs. E. U. Kendrick next
Tuesday afternoon.
