Befalls Mr. Charley Hall When Stick
Pierces Foot
While plowing one day this week,
Jfr. Charley Hall, son of Mr. Jacob
Hall, of the Harding District, had the
ilsfortune to stop on a pointed stick
hicK pierced his right foot entering
just back of tho little toe and go
ing to a depth of some‘three inches.
He was rounding a stump at the
time he stepped on the stick, and it
pierced through his shoe entering the
foot and causing great pain. Char
ley, as he is familiarly known, had
to eall his brother beeause he could
not remove stick or shoe alone. The
two tried to get the stick out, but
in doing so it broke off and a piece
over an inch long remained in the
foot. ^
He suffered great agony from the
wound an! was hurriedly brought to
Tifton by his father and the physi
cian had to split the foot to remove
the piece of wood.
The wound wag dressed and the
young man returned to his home, but
has been unable to be at work yet
as the wound is painful in the ex
treme. He was brought to Tifton
again Friday morning when the phy
slcian examined the wound and stat
ed that up to that time no signs, of
blood poisoning had set in, but that
;t would be Sunday before all danger
of this was passed.
It will be at least two weeks more
before Mr. Hall will be able to go
to work, for the wound is so situated
that he cannot use his right foot at
all.

If dead, let’s remember the "good”

And think of the woman who gave

To be MEN—’mongst earth's mil

Clean, earnest, sincere—as through

Are we measuring up to tho “hopes"

Or are we ashamed to measure our.

Well—if she is with us, let’s tell her

And note the glad look that comes to
