married at the home of the bride's
mother, Mrs. Frank Bishop, on the
Jonesboro road, Tuesday nigh*, at
9:30 o'clock. Dr. Charles Jones, of
Trinity Methpdist church, perform
ing the beautiful ceremony.
The marriage was a very quiet
home affair being witnessed by the
family and a few intimate friends
of the young couple.
The parlor where the weddink took
place was decorated throughout
Shasta daisies. The bride wore
tailored dress of cream Shatung silk
and looked very lovely.
As Miss Bishop. Mrs. Lytle is
well known in Tifton where she liv
ed for several years when 'quite
small, and later returned for a gear
or two. She is a charming young
woman in every way and her ac

A wedding of interest to readers
of the Gazette was that of Major
Peter Pelham of Pciutan, to Mrs.
Sailie Jackson, of Atlanta, which
took plac e Monday morning in tha
Capital city.
The ceremony was performed in
Mr. Winecoff's apartments at the
Winecoff hotel, Dr. J. Sprole Lyons
psstor of the First Presbyterian
church officiating.
Major and Mrs. Pelham are now
st home at the Pelham .mansion at
Poulan.
Mrs. Jackson was first married
to Dr. John Hunter, then to W. F.
Winecoff, and then to Wilbur L.
Jackson, all now deceased.

The greatest air raid in point of caaualtiea yet made over
England by German aircraft was that of yesterday afternoon*
Nearly one hundred person? were killed and more than four
hundred injured by some twelve to fifteen German airplanes
over London-
British aviaton rose and attacked the invadere and the
sound of anti aircraft guns was everywhere heard -in Lon
don but whether the Germans suffered any losses has not yet
been established. They were flying at a height estimated at
two miles when they approached from Essex and flew over
the city.
The-arrival of the American mission headed by Elihu
Root in Petrograd doubtless is the forerunner of important
huppenings with regard to the new Russian government’s fu
ll re activities in.the war. The aid of the Amercan government
will be given unstintedly to the new regimes by the mission.
Aside fro mthe raiding operations by the British troops
France and intennttent grtllery duels between the Germans
i.nd French in Belgium and in the region of the Craonne there
has been little activity along the French front.
Minor operations continue in the Austro-Italian theater
nnd in Macedonia.
