ent, at 2:80 Mr. W. H. Willie, the
chairman, etrolled in; at 8:80 other
gentlemen began to drop in. and at
4 the meeting wae called to order.

Machine Garners Weevils
Where The Hand Fails

morning to attend a demonstration ,
of the Till Boll Weevil Machine. The !
Till machine is an invention arranged
to be worked by hand and is run
over the cotton in a manner to
shake out the weevils and- catch
them in troughs at the bottom on
each aide.
The demonstration was made at
the borne of W. H. Muse. Several
neighbors gathered to witness the
performance of the machine. It de
veloped that weevils are scarce in
that particular section, and in the
field where the j arty went to try out
the machine there were no forms on
the ground and no damage to the
cotton to indicate that they were get
ting in their work there. After a
! considerable March being made with
I the natural eye. and with the hands
being used to open up the forms
I turn over the leaves, no weevils were
(found. Finally it was decided
to. make a hunt for them with the
machine anyhow, and soon they be
gan to fall into the troughe of the
michinc. Less than a dozen rows
were gone over with the maebinr
and they yielded about one weevil
to each row. The/ farmers present
were greatly impressed with the
demonstration. They considered tha*
the machine performed quite i
markable feat and the man in whose
field the demonstration was made
