A very sad death was that of Mir
iam, the little daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. A. B. Blalock. Tuesday night
about 9 o'clock. The little one would
have been three yean old In August.
Miriam was taken suddenly Ill
about 7 o’clock Tuesday morning
and her condition was critical from
the first. Four doctors were in
tendance but nothing could b e don*
rfleve her sufferings and the end
came about 9 in the evening.
The funeral was held at the
home about one and a half mill
south of Tifton Wednesday after-
at 2:30. The service* <
conducted by Revs. Rainey and
Kersey. Mrs. N. Peterson and Mias
Gertrude Gower tang “Saf e In the
Arms of Jesus,” “Asleep in Jesus,
and “His Jewels." The interment
was in Oakridge cemetery. Messrs.
Feldefr^-Adams. Yarborough, and
Duckworth! of the postofflcc force
acted as pallbearers.

heartfelt sympathy of all jn
death or their little one.

McIntosh Kell. 83 years old, widow
of the late Captain John McIntosh
Kell, of the famous Confederate
steamer, Alabama, and at -one lime
adjutant general of the state of
Georgia, died a her home near Grif
fin Thursday night.
Mrs. Kell was a native of Macon

the state and her popularity

Moultrie Obaerver—Two families
were poisoned by honey last Sunday.
There were fourteen members- of
the two. They were Mr. Wesley
Mims’ family. Including wife and aix
children, and Irving Boyd, his wife
and four children. The honey had
recently been taken out of the hive
and is supposed to have been poi
soned by the bees. Had it not been
for the timely arrival of Dr. Folsom
it might have proven fatal to some
of the (mailer ehildrdfj. Dr. Folsom
happened to be in the community
at tha tim e and upon his arrival at
Mr. Mims he immediately sent for
Dr. f)dom, of Berlin.

Willacoochee, Ga., June 18.—
Little Annie Cox. who was shot and
killed Saturday, June 2. was one of
thc sweetest children I ever knew.
She was loved by every one that
knew her and her whole thought was
to do good in some way. She said to
her mother the morning of the kill
ing, "Mamma, if we all do good we
will soon be in thg land of the true.”
She was a sweet little Christian.
Her teacher and her schoolmates
loved her. All we can say -for An
