that* time. But after the sale had
teen made, some two or three weeks
had elapsed when the Manager of
the Conger Drug Company came to
«ne and asked me to take off their
hands the lease they had bought
from the Mills' Drug Company, on
the bank corner. I told him I could
not do so. as I had no use for it, and
could not use it. But he insisted
| that I take it off his hands, as it
was about to create trouble in his
business .on account of. the lease, as c
some numbers of his company did
not seem to know they had taken
over this lease. So after he persist
ed I finally told him that if he' want
ed to release it, and get rid of it bad
enough to release me from any and
all obligations to his rempany and
'especially that I would not go back
I in business here, that'under this
agreement I would relieve him of
' the lease, but at the same time told
him that I thought it would be best
for them to keep the lease,

in a witness and recited the story,
and he agreed to it and I accepted
