Copenhagen, Dec. 6. Reports from Berlin today
state that the Russians refused»the German conditions de
manded in the armistice negotations and have in turn laid
down terms not acceptable to Germany. It is understood
that the Germans will insist that the Russians and
Rumanians are to “retire behind their defensive lines,
and surrender part of their arms; that Austro-German
prisoners in Russia be released, but Russian prisoners are
to remain in Germany.
Zorich, Dec. 3.—Turkey has consented to enter into nego
tiations with Russia for an armistice.

MET UNUSUAL DEATH.
Young Negro Near Chula KiUed by
Fall from Traa.
Ed Rose, colored, about 21 years
of age, met death near Chula Mon
day in an unusual manner. He
went hunting late in the afternoon
and did not return at night. Tues
day morning a party wtnt out Jo
look for him and about 9:30 found
bis body.
From the position of the body his
gun and surroundings, it was evident
that Rose had shot a squirrel in a
small tree and the squirrel lodged.
He climbed the tree for it and by
some means fell, a distance of about
14 or 15 feet to the ground. In
falling he struck a root or stump as
there was a bruise in the small of
his back, and it is supposed this
killed him. Death must have been
stantaneous.
He had two rabbits and two squir
rels with him when found. The
young ngero was married. His body
found about n mile south of
Chula, west ofthe Phillips and Holl-
'orth saw mill site.
