Washington, May 4.—The four American soldiers abroad
sentenced to death for sleeping at their posts in disobedience
to orders will not die for their offense, President Wilson ruled
today. Two were granted full pardon and the other two sen
tences were confirmed but were commuted to three yean penal
servitude at Ft. Leavenworth.
