While Pitcher Wilbanks and Catcher
Dinsmore were bblding a conference, Col.
Bennet stole third and home. The Ump
sent him back for abusing the confidence
of his fellow-workers.
Dr. Baker was a hero on third. He
could stop a ball on first bounce with his
stomach every time.
His Nibs debarred Raines from stealing
bases. Said his foot didn’t give the other
man any show at all.
Dr. John Peterson wouldn’t play. Said
anything might happen to his only pair
of Palm Breaches should he try to slide.
Then, how would he practice dentistry
in a bathing suit?
Coach Steve Mitchell followed his run
ner around the bases. His vpice was
weak.
John Henry Poole insisted on their
throwing the ball to him at third. He
caught it once and his Nibs called the run
ner safe, saying it was an accident.
Ridgdill was the star base stealer. And
he a Solicitor-General!
Dr. Dinsmore had pants trouble. Hc is
taking on flesh.
Bear Cat Williford came near being
ruled out because he appeared in uniform,
They let him stay because Col. Dinsmore
was in overalls.
O’Quinn could pull ’em down out of
the air. He had been practicing that pull,
Dr Harrell's friends insisted that he was
the right man, so they put him there.
Will Murrow was in uniform, military,
not b. b.
Here is the line-up and the score by in
