gue is paying from $250 to $300 a month
for American spell-binders who are work
ing to make Great Britain dry, it was
learned today.
'Jibe prohibition campaign is now on in
full swine with a large corps of men and
women speakers all over the country.

Practically all the money behind th
campaign was raised in the United States.

Regular meetings will be held the first
Friday iu each month. The executive
committee 1ms the power to call special
meetings at auy time it sees fit.
It was derided' to send a delegate to
the state convention which meets in At-
Jauta on October 35-10. Mr. W. B. Ben
net was elected to represent the Post
here. This will be the first state conven
tion. held and it is expected that at thi>
mectiug the state organization will be
perfected and plans for extending the
Legion into every county in the state
The local Post wauts and expects every
white man in the county who served dur
ing the war us a member and we bclicV

stauds for. This Post is not organized
for the hoys mid men in Tifton alone but
for nil who live in the county and

The Post plans to have several sociul
events iu the ncn r future. The organiza
tion is iu no wuy a military one but rath
er one for the boys who served in the w
and can he made what they desire to
make it.
The next meeting will be held the first
Friday in November and we want to aec
every one who served in the war present
at that meeting. If you desire to join
before that time, give your name to any
of the officers «r any member of the com
mittees and they will turn it in to the
Adjutant. Any information can be
secured from the officers or committees.
Let’s all gel behind and push this
Post. It can not he a success without

Paulk, of Ocillu, four registered Aber
deen Angus hulls for use with Mr. Paulk's
herd.
Two of the hulls were raised iu this
county and two of them were brought
from North Gcorgiu. The purchase of
these registered animals by Mr. Paulk
indicatcM the growing interest in this
section in live stock ruining.
Mr. II. J. Vernon Is of the opinion that
this is the coming live stock so,-tion of

from the Lincoln county jail and burned
nt stake early today by a mob.
Gordon shot Deputy Sheriffs Freeman
and Fortaon yesterday, when, the officers
tried to arrest him. Brown was charged
with being an accomplice.
