If you take one glass will be sure »> go back for another. WHITE MEN RELEASED Boatman, • Oct. 20.—At a preliminary hearing before Justice C. B. Murrell, of Dodge county, G. C. Rogers, coroner of Dodge county, C. C. Caldwell, Will Wat son and John (Juiliian, all of l.uurens County, were acquitted of the charge of kfi\ing Eli Cooper, a negro whose body was found in the ruins of a negro church at Caldwell, on the Dodge and Laurens county line the latter part of August. The only witness appearing against the accused was the widow of Cooper. Her testimony conflicted with that given at the coroner's inquest nad all the defen dant's proved their whereabouts on the uight of the alleged homicide. At the same time it was alleged Cooper was murdered, several uegro churches and lodge houses in Laurens county were burned and rewards of ove r $1,300 were offered for the apprehension of the parties responsible for the destruction of the property and the murder of the negro.
