Dr. F. H M. Henderson, preached;
quite an aide gospel sermon, at the 1
M qkedyHHe happy by subscribing i Presbyterian church, on last Sun- 1
day. His text was, Galatians, 6th j
chapter, 14tli verse : “But God for- 1
bill that I should glory save in the
cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.”—
The points made by the Doctor in
his discourse and which were elab
orated at length were that mankind
are too prone, first to glory in birth
or parentage, second, in self excel
lence, third in creed. In strong
and simple language, the preacher
showed the vanity of glorying in
such things, and in a beautiful pe
roration pointed to the cross of
Christ as the only tiling in whifh
we could truly glory.
