Council Chamber, Carrollton,

Mayor and Council convened,
his Honor H. W. Long, Mayor,
presiding ; lull board present.
Minutes of last meeting not
read.
The following 01 dinances were
passed:
Be it ordained by the Mayor
and Citv Council ot Carrollton
Ga. and it is hereby ordained by
the authority aforesaid, that from
and after the passage of this or
dinance it shall be unlawful tor
any person to run an automobile,
oldsmobile, or any otter like
machine in the city of Carroll
ton, Ga at night without hav
ing two lamps lighted on the
front and one on the rear of said
automobile.
Be it further ordained by the
authority aforesaid, That from
and after the first day ot May it
shall be uulawtul for any person
or persons to run or allow to be
run in the city of Carrollton, Ga.
any automobile, old&mobile, or
like machine, without first hav
ing the same numbered and said
number registered with the city
clerk.
Be it further ordained by the
authority aforesaid, That the
owners registering their automo
biles, oldsmobiles, or other like
machines shall procure from the
City Clerk ot Carrollton, a num
ber furnished by him. or to fur
nish a number of like size as
prescribed by him, for which
they shall pay to said Clerk the
amount of the cost of said numi
ber, and lurther that they shall
pay the Clerk of the City of
Cariollton the sum of fifty (50c)
cents for registering said auto
mobiles
Any person or peri
guilty in the Mayor’
violating either of th
dinances shall be pu
prescribed in section
Code of the City of
Ga.
All laws and parts thereof in
conflict with the foregoing are
hereby repealed.
The following ordinance yvas
tween the city of Carrollton and
said company, its successors and
assigns.
Mayor Long tendered his
resignation as Mayor of the city
of Carrollton, Ga., to take effect
as soon as his successor shall be
qualified. Action on same was
postponed.
There being no lurther bush

Notice of Municipal Election.
Georgia, City of Carrollton :
At a called meeting ot the
Mayor and City Council of Car
rollton. Ga., on April 12. 1910,
Mayor H. W. Long having on
the 7th day of April, 1910, ten>
dered his resignation as Mayor
to take effect when his succes
sor shall have been qualified and
the same being accepted on the
aforesaid date of April the 12th,
19x0, it was ordered that an
election in and for the aforesaid
City for Mayor for the remain
der of Municipal Year 1909-1910
be held on April the 30th, 1910.
Therefore, the qualified voters
of the City of Carrollton, Ga..
are hereby notified that on Apr 1
the 30th, 1910, there will be
held in the Court-House of Cai-
roll County, Georgia, an election
for Mayor of the |City of Car
rollton, Ga., for the remainder
ot Municipal Year 1909-1910,
subject to all the rules and regu
lations governing other Munici
pal Elections.

and the country in the vicinity
of Carrollton by the numerous
country lines for the use of sub
scribers connected with the Car
rollton Exchange and the efforts
ot the Gainesboro Telephone
Company, Georgia Division >o
extend and improve its service
and in consideration of the re.
port of the committee appointed
by the Mayor to audit the books
of the company applicable to the
Carrollton Exchange of said
company, that the said report be
approved and the franchise ot
the Gainesboro Telephone Com
pany Georgia Division be aod is
amended so as to authorize said
company to charge in Carrollton
Georgia, for unlimited special
line business stations three (3.00)
dollars per month. In the event
that the company shall install a
common battery central energy
telephone system in Carrollton,

residence telephones over the
present franchise rate thus maki

per month. These rates shall
be payable monthly in advance
at the office of the company in

rates to be charged by the comi
pany for Carrollton, Ga., local
exchange service may be
changed and adjusted on a
proper showing, but they shall
always be reasonable and just
