Divine Possession.
“Ye are Christ’s.’’ 1 Cor 3:23.
We are apt to think it a great
bltssing to be Iree and feel that
we 00 not belong to any one :
but in this we are gieatly mis-
, taken lor our sweetest joys in
this life come to us in tne fact
that we are the loved possession
j of those whom we love in return
I this you will better unde*staud as
you think of the tact that you
are not your own : but you are
your mother’s darling child, and
as you think ot her care and
tender love tor you, it gives you
joy to know tnat you are hers,
and at the same time she is yours
and you would not think, utither
bear the thought of seperating
| yourself from the possession 01
her whose love is the seal thit
cannot be broken.

This is tru.e not only as above
illustrated : out in all the rela-
tions of lile we are the posses
sion of our frieuds, we delight to
be claimed by those we love as
their friend, because it becomes
mutual while we are theirs,
they are ours, therefore there
comes to all the blessing ot the e
possessions more to be enjoyed
than all other treasures.
Now without the tender yet
strong bonds of love that biud
heart to heart, and make our
interests one in life, this would
be a cold and heartless world, a
dreary waste, where the birds
would cease to sing, the voice
of friendship in ciience hush,
and music lose its charms, while
all nature could but clothe her^
self in mourning and sound the
last sad requiem at the depar
ture of all tnat makes lile worth
living, so far as this world is
concerned.
Then if this be true and so
effects our happiness in this
world where the very best is
only fleeting, how much more
so in our relation to those things
that pertain to our future, how
anxious then should we be to
learn how it is that we obtain
that holy relationship by which
we become the possession of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Then let us study together a
little while the means ot grace
by which we are brought into
the divine possession.
ist We are Christ’s, by the
Fathers gilt, for Jesus in speaic.
ing of his disciples says ot them,
“Thine they were and thou
gavest .them me.” John 17:6,
here we see that those who be.
lieve and dome to Jesus are giv
en him of the Father and tftey
are his by right ot the Father’s
gilt and have the assurance of
his unfailing grace and love to
bring them home at last, for he
prays also, saying, Father I will
that they whom thou hast given
me be with me where I am that
they may behold my glory,”
v 24.
2d We are Christ’s also by
purchase, for when we were in
sin and under condemnation ot
the divine law, he redeemed us
by the gift ot himself, for we
tead this, “Ye are not ycu - own,
ye are bought with a price, ye
wpre not redeemed with con
ruptible things as silver and
gold, but with the precious blood
of Christ.” 1st Peter 1:18:19,
in this we see that Jesus bought
us with the price of his own
blood ; so by a two fold title we
are Christ’s, both by gift and by
purchase.
3rd Next we note that
we are Christ’s by conquest, for
in a state of nature we were in
bondage to sin and satan and
walked according to the course
of this world and in the spirit
that worketh in the disobedient,
and were by nature the children
of wrath,” and were the servants
of sin : but being made free from
sin and become servants to God
we have fruit unto holiness, and
assurance of everlasting life”
Rom 6 :22 a wonderful deliver-
ence to souls from the power of
evil and out ot the snare ot
Satan by whom they had ^been
taken captive by him at his will”
2 Tim 2 -26, then by a three
fold title. The gift ot the Father
the purchase price, and the con
quest of Jesus over sin and Satan
by all these ‘“Ye are Christ’s.”

CURES
•SKIN DISEASES
There is an evaporation from the body going on continually, day and
night, through the pores and glands of the skin. This is nature’s way of
maintaining the proper temperature of our systems and preserving the soft
ness and flexibility of the skin, and so long as the blood is free from impur
ities no trouble will result.
When, however, the blood from any cause
becomes infected with humors and acids, these too must be expelled, and
coming in contact with the delicate fibres and tissues with which the skin is
so abundantly supplied they produce irritation and inflammation, and the
-ITect is shown by Eczyraa, Acne, Tetter, and skin affections of various kinds.
These iiupuiities and humors get into the blood through a deranged or
inactive condition of the system ; the members whose dutv it is to carry off
the waste atid refuse matter of the body fail to properly perform their work,
ind this impure, fermenting matter is left in the system to be absorbed by
the blood. The skin is not only affected by poisons generated within the
system, but poisons from without,
such a£ Poison Oak, Poison Ivy,
Mettle Rash, etc., enter through the
open pores and glands-, and so thor
oughly do they become rooted in the
blood that they are ever present,
or return at certain seasons of each
year to torment the sufferer. Salves,
washes, lotions, etc., cannot cure skin
diseases. True, such treatment re
lieves some of the itching and dis
comfort, and aids in keeping the skin
clean, but it does not reach the real
cause, and at best can be only palli
ating and soothing. A thorough

portion of my whole body was affected, and

cleansing of the blood is the only certain cure for skin diseases. S. S. S.,
a gentle acting, safe blood purifier, made entirely of vegetable ingredients
of the forest and field, is the proper treatment. S. S. S. goes down into the
circulation, and neutralizes the acids and humors, thoroughly cleansing and
purifying the blood, and curing skin affections of every kind. It supplies
to the blood the fresh, nutritive qualities necessary to sustain the skin and
all other parts of the body, and rids the blood ot any and all poisons. S. S. S.
cures Eczema, Tetter, Acne, Salt Rheum, Poison Oak and Ivy, Nettle Rash,
and all other skin troubles, and cures them permanently by removing every
trace of the cause from the blood. Special book on Skin Diseases and any
medical advice desired furnished free to all who write.
