DON’T NEGLECT YOUR EYES
There’s One Optician in Carrollton Who Knows His Business
It is a source of constant pleasure to me to be able to serve
tbe people of western Georgia by correcting imperfect eyesight. It
is also a pleasure to know that the people know and appreciate my
work. For a number of years I have made the auatomy of the eye
a special study; with all its peculiarities, its diseases and their cure.
After carefnl and dilligeut study I have selected au up-to-date equip
ment with which I am enabled to thoroughly examine, test and fit
the eye properly. During the past week I have fitted patients from
Bremen, Villa Rica, Temple and other places (names on request.)
Read the symptoms below and if you have any, I would be glad for
you to meet me in my office.
DR. J. D. HAMRICK.
People who have tried so-called opticians under various names
without being benefited are the kind cf patients I delight in showing
just what I can do for their vision. I DON’T GUESS WHEN I
FIT GLASSES. My work is from a scientific stand-point, and
when I find after testing your eyes that you do not need glasses I
will tell you so. But if a test shows that perfectly ground lenses of
the proper strength, fitted in frames that are suited to your face, will
benefit you, I supply them at a reasonable charge for my services.
Remember that I can fit any eye that responds to light. If you have
neglected your eye ’till it will not respond to a ray of light I can not
benefit you. But if it does, I will delight in showing what I can do
for you, CONSULTATION FREE.
EYE DONT’S.
DON’T buy glasses over the counter
and select them yourself. You
* might chance to get a pair that
helped your vision lor the time be*
ing, but that may prove most in-,
juricus
DON’T buy cheap glasses. Such lenses
are imperfectly gronud and unlike.
You only have one pair of eyes.
Don’t cheat yourself with cheap
glasses.
DON’T read in bed or on a moving
train. Thousands of eye troubles
find their cause this way
DON’T read without your own glasses.
Never attempt to read with an-
others’ glasses.
DON’T continue to wear old glasses
when they do not give you satisfac
tion. It is so easy to have them
right i( you will get them from me.
I guarantiee my work.

TESTING EYES
is not a matter of guess work with me. It is a scientific work governed by prin
ciples which none who have not searched into the anatomy of the eye understands.
My method is not guess work, but a time proven correct way, without a trace of
guess work. First Signs of Failing Vision is not always accompanied by
Headaches. Smarting Burning Eyelids, Shooting Pains in the fore
head, Floetiug Spots before the Eyes, Dizziness and Weary, Tired
Eyes after Working or Reading,
but they are sure signs, if you have any of them, then your eyes need to be cor
rected. Don’t put off having done what if attended to now will save you years of
suffering in the future. You have only one pair of eyes, which when once gone
are lost forever.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Nyde at The
Telephone.
Courteous and considerate
co-operation is as esse'itial at
the telephone as in the office or
home.
In every use of the telephone
system three human factors are
brought iuto action—onejat each
end, one or both anxious and
probably |impatient, another at
the central office, an expert, at
least as intelligent and reliable
as the best stenographers or
bookkeepers.
For the time being, this cen
tral office factor is the personal
servant of the other two and is
entitled to the same considera
tion that is naturally given to
their regular employees.
Perlect service idepends upon
the perfect co-ordinate action of
all three (actors—any one failing
the service suflers. This should
never be|forgoiteu.
All attempts to entirely elimi
nate the personal lactor at the
central office, to make it a
machine, have been unsuccessful.
There are times when no me
chanism, however ingenious,
can take the place of human
intelligence.
The marvelous growth ot the
Bell System has made the use of
the telephone universal and the
misuse a matter ot public con
cern. Discourtesy on the part
of telephone users is only pos,
sible when they fail to realize
the efficiency of the service. It
will cease when they talk over
the telephone as they would talk
face to face.

ALL DRUGGISTS
The Duty of The Parent to
The School.
I have repeatedly asked par
ents, when visiting school neigh
borhoods, ‘‘Have you a good
school?” Very often the reply
is, “No, we have not much of a
school. The teacher does not
take much interest,” or “The
teacher has favorites,” or “We
do not like the teacher,” some
such answer which shows that
the speaker has no interest or
knowledge or wish to co-operate
in making the school a good one.
Now a school is a community
matter and a community responsi
bility aud no force should be
strong enough to interfere with
the efficiency of this best of
institutions. If the teacher is
weak and poorly (quipped, all
the more reason then why the
patrons should rally around that
school and see to it that because
of the misfortune ot a poor
teacher the school itself shall
not suffer.
Personalities and petty griev
ances have no place when it is a
question of the education of the
boys and girls for future citizen
ship. You know as well as I ot
numerous instances of foolish
parents who have withdrawn
their children trom school, per
haps for an entire term, because
perchance some|one was so un
wise as to laugh at or ridicule a
peculiarity ol manner or dress in
a memb r of the family, or
because of a real or imagined
grievance against the teacher.
You know, and I know, of
instances ot children being
kept at home throughout anem
tire term because thepaients had
a grievance , real or fancied,
against another school patron.
The boys and [girls who are
b p ing deprived of school advan (
tages today because of petty
neighborhood misunderstandings
real or tancied wrongs, will have
a number of serious questions to
ask their parents a few years
hence when they face a work-a-
day world unequipped for their
duties.
It should be the business of
every father and mother in every
school neighborhood to see to it
that tbe senool attendance is ioo
per cent for the school term. ’ It
must be borne in mind that one
absent pupil retards the progress
of the entire school. If aparent
is zealous for the advancement
of his child, he can secure that
end by seeing to it thft bis
neighbor’s children are also in
their places. Nothing so handi.
