CURES.
SUM DISEASES
There is an evaporation from the body going on continually, day and
night, through the pores and glands of the skin. This is nature's way of
maintaining the proper temperature of our systems and preserving the soft
ness and flexibility of the skin, and so long as the blood is free from impur
ities no trouole will result. When, however, the blood from any cause
becomes infected with humors and acids, these too must be expelled, and
coming in contact with the delicate fibres and tissues with which the skin is
so abundantly supplier! they produce irritation and inflammation, and tlie
•■fleet ts shown by" Eczema, Acne, Tetter, and skin affections of various kinds.
These impunties and humors get into the blood through a deranged or
inactive condition of the system ; the members whose dutv it is to carry off
the waste and refuse matter of the body fail to properly peilorm their work,
and this impure, fermenting matter is left in the system to be absorbed by
the blood. The skin is not only affected by poisons generated within the
system, but poisons from without,
such as Poison Oak, Poison Ivy,
Nettle Rash, etc., enter through the
open potes and glands, and so thor
oughly do they become rooted in the
blood that they are ever present,
or return at certain seasons of each
year to torment the sufferer. Salves,
washes, lotions, etc., cannot cure skin
diseases. Tme. such treatment re
lieves some of the itching and dis
comfort, and aids in keeping the skin
clean, but it does not reach the real
cause, and at best can be only palli
ating and soothing. A thorough
cleansing of the blood is the only certain cure for skin diseases. S. S. S.,
a gentle acting, safe blood purifier, made entirely of vegetable ingredients
of the forest and held, is the proper treatment. S. S. S. goes down into the
circulation, and neutralizes the acids and humors, thoroughly cleansing and
purifying the blood, and curing skin affections of every kind. It supplies
to the blood the fresh, nutritive qualities necessary to sustain the skin and
•11 other parts of the body, and rids the blood of any and all poisons. S. S. S.
cures Eczema, Tetter, Acne, Salt Rheum, Poison Oak and Ivy, Nettle Rash,
and all other skin troubles and cures them permanently by removing every
trace of the cause from the blood. Special book on Skin Diseases and any
Medical advice desired furnished free to all who write.

“Whereby ore {liven unto us ex
ceeding great and precious promises"
2d Peter 1:4.
Have you ever thought much
about the precious promises which
Jesus left on record for our comfort
and for our encouragement as we
try to do his will and to keep his
commandments, and have you
thought also of the fact, that most
of the real strength and inspiration
we have to help us on in trying to
do the right, comes to us in the
belief of these promises? for we
know that all of our hopes gather
around the divine promises of our
Lord, if these were taken away
from us, we would be left in dark
ness and despair.
Then if so much of our happiness
in this life, and of our hope for the
life to come rests upon our faith in
his gracious promises, how necessary
for us to think of these and try to
hold in memory the very words of
our Savior as recorded in them, for
we are sure that there are no other
words which we can retain that
can give more strength to our minds
or better qualify us for real useful
ness in life indeed a good store of
knowledge of these promises is
fundamental and elementary to our
best and only true and exalted
education, fitting us for the very
best of life.
Then let us seek for some of these
“great and precious promises.” The
promise of the Holy Spirit, when
Jesus knew that he must soon leave
his disciples, he gave them his
promise, saying, "It is expedient
for you that I go away x x x if I
depart I will send the comforter
unto you he shall testify of me,"
how great a promise is this, that
the Holy Spirit is always with us to
comfort and help us when we look
to him and believe this promise of
Jesus.
Another precious promise is the
gift of rest, “Come unto me all
ye that labor, and are. heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.” Mat. 11 ;28
How many poor suffering people in
the world, weary and heavy laden,
not with the burdens and trial of
physical labor: bat with Heart bur
dens and afflictions that no earthly
physicians, or human help can re
lieve these sorrow burdened hearts
may come to Jesus by faith in his
promise and find a sweet rest by
trusting in him and by his own as
surance of a loving welcome to all
who will thus come to him as he
tells us in the next promise we
notice
“All that the Father giveth rne
shall come to me, and him that
cometh unto me, I will in no wise
cast him out." John 16:17 here is
not only the promise of rest fulfilled
but all fear of being again cast out
from the peace and joy of his pres
ence is removed.
Another very precious promise is
to hear and ansv/er our prayers,
see what he says in John 14;14; “If
ye shall ask anything in my name,
I will do it," and yet more that he
will also intercede with the Father,
saying, “I will pray the Father, and
he will give you another comforter,
that he may abide with you forever,”
and also in this same discourse to
his disciples he gives them the
promise of the Father's blessing in
answer to prayer, saying, “What-so-
ever ye shall ask the Father in my
name he will give it you," here then
we have in these promises the as
surance that both Jesus our Savior
and God our heavenly Father will
in answer to our prayers give to us
all that we need Lin this life, and
comfort us with hope of heaven.
Therefore, another of his most
precious promises is found recorded
in John 14:3, “And if I go and pre
pare a place for you, I will come
again and receive you to myself,
that where I am there ye may be
also,” thus you see that Jesus does
not cease his exceeding great and
precious promises till he opens the
way into his own glorious home,
for all who truly believe these
with the many other promises
given to us; but we must not forget
that all these are given to us on
the condition that we believe his
word and do his will; but to those
who do not believe and obey his
gospel, there is no promise left.
When you read these promises of
Jesus, then pray that he may help
you to believe them.
