Electric Light Notice
Beginning with February, this
company will adopt the city’s rule
governing the collection of water
dues, and cut out all lights or mo
tors that are not paid for by the 10th
of the month following that in
which the current was used.
Our collector will endeavor be
tween the 1st and 8th of each
month to see all our patrons. On
the 9th and 10th, he can be found
in the companys office on the first
floor of the telephone building to
receive payment of any unsettled
accounts.
This is no reflection on anyones
credit, but is done to protect the
company from an increasing lot of
bad accounts. We believe the un
necessary time spent in trying to
collect a few scattering bills could
be used to the good of all in better
ing the service. If you should fail
to pay by the 10th you will be cut
out and can be reinstated by pay
ment of all past dues.
Our new plant just completed
puts us in better shape than ever to
give you good service, and we hope
the good people of Carrollton will
give us their support and encourage
ment and in return we promise to
give you the best there is in us.

never so happy as when giving some-

Whittier and Hia Admirers.
Few poets had more admirers
among women than Whittier had,
and this admiration frequently took
personal form. One day his sister,
in her slow Quaker fashion, was de
scribing these eruptions. “Thee
hast no idea,” she said, “of the time
Greenleaf spends in trying to lose
these people on the streets. Some
times he comes home and says,
‘Well, sister, I had hard work to
lose him, but I have lost him.’ ” Tc
this Whittier pathetically added,
“But I can never lo3e a her.”
