IN MEMORY OF
MR. J. T. ARMSTRONG
Mr. .1. T. Armstrong, a well-known
citizen living near Lee’s Chapel,
was found dead in the Held on the
Lilli of June. He had gone out
alone and died suddenly. He was
72 years of age and is suivived by
his widow and eleven sons end
daughters. He told his son, Ycssie,
a while before he died his prayer
was to die in the field at work.
So weep not, for father is at rest,
and wearing a beautiful crown.
Just live so that you may meet him
at the beautiful gate. He is not
dead, hut sleeping in the arms of
I Jesus. Oh how sad to part with
jloved ones, but how sweet to nice!
in a brighter world some day.
I
Dearest father, thou hast left us
Thy loss we feel and deeply mourn,
To think thou art gone forever,
Never, no never to return.
Why, dear father, must you leave us,
Why, oh why must you die;
Surely we need thy counsel,
The echo answers, why?
Host, dear father, free from sorrow,
j Rest there in the silent tomb;
iSiekness there cannot reach thee
| Enter there no pain or gloom.

WILLIAM EARNEST LATIMER
I have made arrangements with one of
the strongest Loan Companies in the
Northwest to make loans for them in
Carroll, Coweta and Haralson counties,
on well improved farm lands as security,
at very low rate of interest. These loans
to run five and ten years. Principal re
payable in five and ten annual install
ments of one tenth each year, or borrow
er can retire the loan any time.
L. Z. DORSETT
Heath has again invaded the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Latimer on
Oak Lawn farm, June 18th, and call
ed for their infant son, Willie Ear
nest, and has taken him from the
arms of loving parents to the home
yibove. How sweet must have been
the meeting when little Willie and
his little sister, Mac, who two
weeks before, had passed to that
bright home where Jesus Is and is
ever ready to receive the little ones
in the arms of his everlasting love.
The bereaved parents again have
the sympathies of kindred and
friends in this repetition of sore be-
renvmeent.
i Funeral services were held at
Reulah church on Mondav a. m..
June 10th, and the little body laid
to rest beside the little sister who
had so recently gone before.
“There is a home of peace and love
For little ones in heaven above."

FURNITURE AND UNDERTAKING
What is the happist highway that
happy children know?
What is the place it comes from,
and whither does it go?
11 is the road "Vacation” that leaves
* the school house door
And leads to lands enchanted that
glimmer oil’ before.
Never was a highway like that
where pupils run
To all that lies before them when
school at last is done!
It stretches from the June-time on
through the long July,
And onward still through August,
till autumn days are nigh.
And oh, the beauty of it! and how
its glories gleam
To those who journey on it, as in
a wondrous dream 1
II lends to sandy branches, and wa
ters blue and fair.
And surf upon the edges where mer
maids comb their hair.
It leads (o el ill' and headlands
where thundering surges heat
Far down below the pathway that
lures the eager feet.
It leads to where a farmhouse be
hind the Maples stands,
And wtiere a welcome’s waiting in
loving, lavish hands.
It lends lo Helds of daisies that quiv
er, nod and blink
To the touch of gentle breeze and
the song of bobolink.
ll leads to shady meadows beyond
tlies hndy pool
Where cattle stand at noontime in
waters dark and coot.
It leads to ponds where pickerel are
darting to and fro.
And woods where fox and rabbit
have haunts that hoys may k
have haunts that boys may know.
It leads to dusky woodlands where
tangled branches stir
Above the canvass shelter and bed
of fragrant fir.
It leads to mountain valleys where
laughing waters run
And leap along the ledges and spar
kle in the sun
L
So many wondrous places the won
drous highway finds.
Twould take a thousand verses to
tell the different kinds.
And when the summer’s over, now
where do you suppose.
With all its dips and turinings, the
happy highway goes?
Why. into cool September,—you
know what lies before,—
Then, straight as any arrow, right
to the school house door!
—John Clair Minot.

Too bad that such things
can happen. It is a wonder
why people who can not af
ford to carry their own risk
will neglect to have their lit
tle homes insured against fire
and tornado. In a few minutes these elements destroy
what it has taken years to build and pay for.
Everybody Is Sorry
