our community at present: Airs.
Ida Garrett, Master Alvin Bishop,
Mr. Bud Crumpton, yvho has been
critically ill for tyvo weeks, has
recovered sufliciently to dismiss his
trained nurse. Mrs. Ed Garret has
been very sick, and still has a train
ed nurse. Mr. Bennett, who was
reported to Ik- in an alarming con
dition last week, is able to he up.
We yvisli for all speedy recoveries.
Our ever-pleasant operator, Miss
Alice Trimble spent last week-end

Aliss Ophia Morris, yviio lias had
charge of the musical department
at Washington, N. C., after visiting
Baltimore, Washington, I). C., and
other interesting places, arrived in
our town last yveek. While on her
tour she had the rare privilege of
hearing Woodroyv Wilson speak.
Air. and Mrs. Will Cole and two
children, of Atlanta, spent last
week with Mr. Cole’s sister, Mrs. J.
G. Buckalew.
Miss Hazel Shaw, yvho has a
school near here, attended the teach
er’s normal at the A. & M.
Miss Bonnie Morris, another of
Ml. Zion’s talented young ladies,
yvho has charge of the primary de
partment at Heflin high school, is
spending the summer with tier par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. IT. H. Morris.
Mrs. Claude Marttin, one of our
useful Sunday School teachers, has
been in feeble health for several
weeks, and is still unable to be
yvith her class of girls who miss
her very much.

the death angel visited the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Tavlor Baker and took
from them their little eighteen-
month’s old son, Edward. He was
sick about ten days with summer
complaint. Its body was laid to rest
in Neyv Hope cemetery. Rev. W.
O. McMullan preached tlie funeral.
