lace, Has Given His Life
for His Country.

Mr. G. W. Wallace, of Koopville, li.
F. I). 2, received a telegram Tuesday
announcing the death of his son, James
S. Wallace, who died in a hospital on
September 17th, from blood poison.
He had been in the hospital for some
time, and has been writing letters to his
people back home that he would soon
be well and join his batnllion again.
He was 27 years old and enlisted in
June, 1917, as a volunteer, lie crossed
over in April this year.
This adds one more name to the cas-
ualtv lists of Carroll countv.

SUCCUMBS TO THE “FLU”
Mr. Emmett Hell died from Spanish
Influencza at his home in Bremen
Thursday morning.
Mr. Hell was manager of the ginnery
of the Mnndevjlle Mills at that place.
He was a young man, leaves a wife
and some small children. His former
home was Buchanan.
Everybody should come out to the
fair next Tuesday and on through the
balance ot the week and see the mag
liificent exhibits of live stock, chickens,
agricultural exhibits, ladies’ work,
boys’ and girls’ club exhibits. These
