IT IS TRUE
that this is Just a picture. It is hero to attract your atten

remind yon that
YOU NEED FIRE INSURANCE
that it is a good thing, etc., but our solo object in this ad ‘s
to got you to say
“TO-DAY.”
Thousands of men, as they watched tlioir property burn

Dear people of America, how can so
ninny of us lie so unconcerned! When
Jesus was curried before tho judge to
be tried for his life did not his follow
ors grieve because they loved him ?
So it is with any one who really
loves their father, mother, brother or
sister when they are in trouble.
If you love them it grieves yon. So
it is with the dear hoys ‘‘over there.
When we are laughing, .joking, drink
ing Coca Cola, &c., not thinking of the
dear lmys, the poor lonely soldier boys
are wondering ‘‘how they are -it
home." How can wo spend so much
time in leisure, so much time un
thonglitedly!
I n God’s Word we ore taught to con
tinue in prayer, love ouch other as he
loved us. How eun we think of the
ones often that nre tho nearest to us,
when wo are passing away our time fool
islily, not thinking of any tiling hut
making money and having pleasure; not
planning for the safe retuTn of the dear
American heroes.
It is well to try to make money hon
estly, and spend it honestly.
Some think because they live here
under tho old ‘‘Rod, White nnd 111 in-* ’
they are alright and can stand their
hand if tho enemy crosses over here.
Hut what would it mean to us?
Graves destroyed, towns burned, homes
bombed, women and children murder
ed and starved to death. We are in
more pence here and will save more
tliini we would if the enemy we.ro to
land over here, and they most assured
ly would have come if we had waited
much longer.
I long to see the fathers and mothers
get wider awake and stand liy thoir
hoys and other folk’s boys.
I liavo hoard so many unconcerned
father’s talk not seeming to realize
that they should love these soldiers as
no ono else can lovo them, Wo all
slironld hold them dearer -praying eon
liminlly for their safe return, sing their
favorite songs, remember them in every
way.
Let us be more sincere and thought
ful. We can help by saving every
where. Some of us think because we
get plenty to eat and nro protected
from cold, that everybody else will,
but remember our soldiers and their
cold cots -no pillows, no woolen blan
kets, no loving mother’s hand to help
in time of sorrow I Let us all remem
ber them everywhere we go, and may
God crown our efforts with success and
restore their old world to pence and
happiness one, more. I.et us hope and
pray that we soon shall see nnd enjoy
such. Ask it nil in His name.
.Now lot me say it once more: Let’s
do our part more freely, more thought
fully and with much love. May you
relapse into real thought as to your
duty. D. Cl. H.
