Crnvon spent last Thursday night with their daughter, Mrs. Rosie Davis, and family. Messrs. Bernard and Carl Gillespie, Misses Navana Spruell and Ada Mor rell attended the vaudeville show at Roopville school house Friday night They reported it good. The Halcyon Literary Society gave a program on Iasi Tuesday afternoon, commemorating the life and writings of •Tool Chandler Harris. The high school boys have their bas ket ball goals up and are playing every day. They played a match game with Mt. Zion last Friday, December the 7th. They lost to the Mt. Zion team by a score of 25 to 23. The Burwell bpvs played a good game and took their defeat like men. We have physical drill for a 30 minutes period during the morning recess. Wo will have visitors to conduct chapel exercises during the coming week. Several members of the faculty and tho majority of tho board ing students are anticipating tho spend ing of the vacation at their respective homes. In reviewing the progress of the col lege for tho past few months, the in creased attendance and the advance ment in the character of the class-room work, credit commendation. The ideals of the college are being fast dissemina ted among itB friends and patrons, who are more staunchly rallying to its sup port. Tho Bowdon Players, the playmakers of the college, who are rapidly making an enviable reputation for tho success ful presentation of high class plays by eminent authors, will present four one- act plays at the college auditorium on Saturday evening, December the 15th. “The Chest Story,” by Booth Tarking- ton, will bo played by Mr. Pelham Bart lett, Mr. Guy Camp, Mr. D.
