CHICKEN THIEF GETS QUICK
PUNISHMENT.
On last Saturday night some one
entered the chicken house of Rev, 0
V Fuller and on Sunday morning
there were four tine hens and a roos
ter missing. Upon investigating
tracks were found leading from the.
chicken house; and Pam, Mr. Fuller's
son, followed them with (’apt, C 11
led them to the house of a negro call
ed “Buckshot.' Before starting out
on the hunt 0a,pt. Warren went for
Sheriff Gibbs and he being unable to
go, deputized him and when they
got to the house they found setting in
front a negro who hud on shoes that
exactly tallied with the track, but
they did not stop there but passed
by and in a few weeks returned, but
found that the negro had ckangad
shoes. They began looking around
and soon Sam. found the bens under
a basket in an outhouse and they
then arrested the negro and placed
him m jail. Monday morning lie
was tried before County Court Judge
T L Holton and sentenced to six
months in the County Gang—where

This is the second one that has stole
chickens from Rev. Fuller and had
to serve time.

Death of Mrs. T. P. Wilcox.
Mrs. T I’ Wilcox, of Podge eoun
ty, while visiting her daughter, Mrs.

with pneumonia and died last Thurs
day the 14th inst. She leaves a Inis

mourn her sad demise. To the be
