Under and by virtue of a power of
sale and power of attorney contained
in a certain deed made by T. S. Rob
erts, on the 18th day of April 1914, in
favor of Alex Martin, which said deed
is recorded in book 7, page 316 Rec
ords of Deeds Crisp county, will be
sold before the court house door in
said county, between the legal hours
of sale, to the highest bidder for cash,
on the first Tuesday in May, next, the
following lands:
Two and onec-half acres, more or
less, of lot numper 241 in the 11th
land district of Crisp county, Ga., said
tract being in the town of Hatley, and
bounded on the north by the A. B. &
A. railroad right-of-way, on south by
property formerly owned by J. .. Haw
kins, cn West by lands of C. L. H. War
ren, on east by public road, on which
is located a frame store huilding; alsc
one and one-half acres of land, more

ing, said note now being held and
owned by H. (. Welchel & Bro, a firm
composed of H. €., A. J.and €. D:
Welchel, and said sale being for their
use and benefit.
The proceeds of such sale to be ap
plied first to the payment of the
payment of the amount due upon said
note, including principal and interest
and the cost of this proceeding, the
remainder, if any, turned over to the
said Roberts, or his assigns, as provid
ed in said deed. Deed or deeds, will
be executed to the purchaser, or pur
chasers at such sale, in accordance
with the power of attorney contained
in the above mentioned deed.

The capital stock of said corporation
shall be Ten Thousand (10,000.00)
Dollars, with the privilege of increas
ing the sane from time to time by ma
jority vote of the stockholders to a
sum not exceeding One Hundred Thoun
sand (100,000.00) Dollars, said stock
to be divided into shares of One Hun
dred ($100.00) Dollars each. The en
tire amount of said capital stock has
already been actually paid in.

Petitioners desire the right to sue
and be sued, to plead and be implead
ed, to have and use a common seal,
to make all necessary by-laws and reg

that may be necessary for the success

able to the purpose of the corporation,
and to execute notes and bonds as ev

They desire for said corporation the
power and anthority to apply for and
accept amendmeirts to its charter of
either form or substance by a vote of
a majority of its stock outsanding at
the time. They also ask authority for
said corporation to wind up its affairs,
liquidate and discontinue its business
at any time it may determine to do so
by a vote of two-thirds of its stock
outsanding at the time.

They desire for the said incorpor
ation the right of renewal when and
as provided by the laws of Georgia,
and that it have all such other rights,
powers, privileges and immunities as
are incident to like corporations or

Cleveland, Chio, April 22.—Repre
sentatives of the roalroads in the Uni
ted States and of the four railroad
employees brotherhoods will meet at
Chicago. Apxil 27 to discuss the recent
demands of the brotherho®ds for an
eight hour day.
Announcement. to this effect was
made here today by W. G. Lee, presi
dent of the trainmen’s brotherhood.
At the Chicago meeting arrange
ments will be made for a later confer
ence when the brotherhoods’ demand
will be considered in detail.
The April 27 meeting was suggested
to the brotherhoods by the railroads
in a letter received today. Acceptance
of the proposition was decided upon at
once,.
VON DER GOLTZ, HEAD
OF TURK ARMY, IS DEAD
Amsterdam, April 22.—Baron Kol
mar von der Goltz, commander-in
chief of the First Turkish army, died
Wednesday of spotted fever at the
headquarters of his Turkish army, ac
cording to an official announcement re
ceived here from Berlin. He had been
ill for ten days.
I'ield Marshal von der Goltz was re
garded as one of Germany's greatest
strategists. He was 72 years old. He
had seen extensive military service,
having fought on the staff of Prince
Frederick Charles in the Franco-Prus
sian war. In 1883 he was sent to re
construct the Turkishi army and re
mained in Turkey for thirteen years.
In August, 1914, he was appointed
military governor of the occupied part
of Belgium, but in November of the
same year he was relieved of his com
mand and sent to Turkey, where he
was appointed commander-in-chief of
the First Turkish army.
REBUILDING YARYAN
Reccstruction Work on the Bruns-
Wick Plant is Under Way.
Brunswick, April 22.—Active work
on the reconstruction of the mam
moth plant of the Yaryan Rosin and
Naval Stores company, which was al
most totally destroyed by fire several
weeks ago, is expected to begin short
ly, A.rorce of 100 men or more have
been at work for thy past three weeks
clearing away the debris, removing
the old burned retorts, etc., and this
work is just about completed.
The new structure will be absolutely
fire proof, even the windows being of
steel. The large buildings will be con
structed of steel and concrete, and in
some instances will be larger than
the burned ones. The company hopes
to get the new plant completed and
ready for operation the last of the
sumimer.
For houses of limited room a com
bined kitchen sink and bath tub has
been invented, the former being
mounted on top of a cabinet that is
moved out of the way when the lat
ter is used, the same faucets ard out
let serving both. .

FOR GOOD HIGHWAYS

road work was let here yesterday by
