A Pendergrass man faces charges of simple battery on a dep

Inmates cause
disruption in jail
Two Jackson County inmates caused disruptions May 16,
19 and 20 by hitting the cell doors. Both were restrained from
the efforts.
An inmate who admitted to coming down off “PCP” began
cursing and screaming while an officer was moving inmates
from one isolation unit to another on May 19. He then began
to kick the doors and refused to comply with officers’ orders.
He was moved to the padded cell.
The inmate who was in the padded cell started to bang his
forehead on the door May 20.
The man hit his head so hard it caused a small cut and he
began to smear blood on the window of his cell.
He was put in the restraint chair to prevent him harming
himself further.
Another inmate hit the cell door “so hard it could be heard
in various parts of the administration office of the jail” May
16. The man had made statements about harming himself. He
also was put in the padded cell.
