Latest European Rests. St. Johns, N. F., August 25.—The steamer City ot Baltimore, Capt. She was boarded by the news yacht of the Associated Press, and the following important summary of her news obtained : - L'VHRpool, Aug. 15—The sales in the Liverpool cuttor. market Monday and Tuflßflgy amounted to 25j00&jbales. Colton has partially* advanced I*l6 to id. The market closed firm. The mar ket for brcadstufis closed steady at full prices. Provisions are slow of sales, bnt ’ the prices of last week remain unchanged. London, August 15.—The funds siuce the sailing of the Arabia have been steady. Consuls for money closed at 93§®93£. Li vhr pool, August 16, P. M.—The sales of cotton yesterday (Wednesday) were confined to 18,000 bales. The market^closed buoyant. Fifteen hsirdred of Garibaldi’s troops bad crossed tire Straits of Messina and landed in Calabria, where they were en thusiastically received by the people. A telegram from Naples states that the city has again been proclaimed in a state of siege. . It is reported that Austria will renounce the treaty of Villafranca, and actively op pose Garibaldi. Domestic Sews. New York, August 23.—This ci*y, Boston arid Philadelphia were last night visited by very heavy rains, which did con tuderable damage to property. Oswkoo, N. Y., Aug. 23.—A vessel, name unknown, ran into the steamer Niagara, bound from Rochester to Oswego, carrying away three staterooms and break ing huth legs of Mr. John Adger, of Co lumbia, S. C. New York, August 23.—The cotton market to day was steady, while the sales embraced 1500 bales at 10 i, ‘3* lie. for mid dling uplands. The s lies of flour reached 13.000 bids., at $6 12'515 20-for superfine State. Wheat* closed’ firm, at an advance of Ic. per bushel. There were 90,000 bushels of corn sold today at prices ranging from 601®62c. Cincinnati, Avgust 23.—The flour market-wised dull. Prices are nominal. Wheat closed steady, at uuchanged prices. . .
