PILLS 4 IRON.
AN aperient and Stomachic preparation of IRON
purified of Oxygen and Carbon by Combustion in
Hydrogen. Sanctioned by the highest Medical Au
thorities, bath in Europe ard tbe United States, and
prescribed in Ibeir practice.-
The experience of thousands daily proves that no
preparation ol Iron can be compared with it. Impu
rities of the blood, depression of vital energy, pale
and otherwise sickly complexions indicate il3 neces
sity in almost every conceivable case.
,1000x1008 in all maladies in which it baa been
tried, it has proved absolutely curative in each of
the following complaints, viz:
lx Psbiuty, Nervous Affections, Emaciation,
Dtspepsia, Constipation, Diarrhoea. Dysentery,
Incipient Consumption, Scrofulous Tuberculosis,
Salt Rheum, Mis menstruation, Whites, Chlorosis,
Ltvsa Complains, Chronic Headaches. Rheuma
tism, Intermittent Fevers, Pimples on the Face,
&K
In crscs of Gel eral Debility, whether the result of
acute disease, or of the continued diminution of ner
vous and muscular energy from chronic complaints,
one trialof this restorative has proved successful to
an extent which no description nor written altesta
ti-n would render credible. Invalids so long bed
ridden as to have become forgotten in their own
neighborhoods, have suddenly rc-appcared in the
busy world as if just returned from protracted travel
in a distant land.. Some very signal instances of
this kind arc attested of female sufferers, emaciated
victims of apparent marasmuß, sanguineous exhaus
tion, critical changes, and that complication of ner
vous and dyspeptic-aversion to air and exercise for
which tiie physician lias no nr.mo.
In Nervous Affections of all kinds, and f>r reasons
familiar to medical men, the operation of this pre
paration of iron must necessarily saiutarv, for,
unlike tbe old oxides, it is vigorously tonic w'itiiput
being exciling snd overheating; and gently; regular
ly aperient even in the most obstinate cases of cos*
tiveness without ever being a gastric ptugalive, or
inflictiug a disagreeable sensation.
It is this latter property among others, which
makes it so remarkably effectual Rnd permanent a
remedy forFiLE3, upon which il also appears to exert
a distinct and specific action, by dispersing the local
tendency which forms them.
In Dyspepsia, innumerable as are its causes, a sin
gle box of these Chalybeate Pills has often suffired
for the most habitual esses, including tbo attendent
CosTivExees.
In unchecked Diarrhoea, aven when advanced to
Dysentary, confirmed, emaciating, and apparently
malignant, the effects bave been equally decisive
and astonishing.
In the local pains, loss of flesh end strergth, debil
itating cough, and remittent hectic, which generally
indicate Incipient Consumption, this remedy has al
layed tho alarm of friends and physicitns; in several
very gratifying and interesting instances.
In Scrofulous Tuberculosis, this medicated iron
has had far more tban tho good effect of the most
cautiously balanced preparations of iodine without
any of their well known liabilities.
The attention of feros'es cannot be too confidently
invited lo this re.mkly and hestobativb, in cases pe
culiarly affecting them.
In Rheumatism, both c.hrotiic and inflsmatory—in
the latter, however, more decidedly—it has been in
variably well reported, both a3 alleviating pain and
reducing the swellings aud stiffness of the joints
and muscles.
In Intermittent Fevers, it must necessarily be a
great remedy and energetic restorative, and its prog
res* in tho new settlements of the West, will proba
bly be one of high renown and usefulness.
No remedy has ever been discovered in the whole
history of medicine, which exerts such prompt, hap
py, and fully restorative effects. Good appetite
complete digestion, rapid acquisition of strength,
with an unusual disprsition for active and cheerful
exercise, immediately follow ils uec.

SOIL-LIFTING PLOW!
WHEN a surface Plow is run at a depth
of twelve inches, snd a two-horse Soil-
Lifting Plow follows, which is capable of dis
integrating to a depth of fifteen inches more,
there is a total disintegrated depth of twenty
seven inches and those who so practice will
find that they have another farm beneath that
represented on their map. A smaller size of
this Plow, (one horsel thinner in the sole and
trore dart-like in its figure, is an admirable
implement for cultivating crops and will do
tho work of more than forty men with hoes.
With the corn crop this tool may tun close
alongside the corn, and to the full depth of
twelve inches when the corn is but threeinch
cs high, and before the roots occupy tho space
between the rows; this will lift the soil, move
every com plant with the soil, for so slight a
distance as not to separate the particles from
the roots, yet so completely loosening the mass
that the plant may be picked up with the fin
gers. This is more thorough cultivation than
can be obtained by one hundrod booings, leav
ing the soil in better tilth and cutting ot no
roots. More then twenty thousand of these
Plows were sold last year.

Fever and Ague,
from which mankind #uffer over a large part of the
glut*-, is the consequence of a diseased action tu tb
system, induced by the poisonous miasm Os vegetable
decay. This exhalation is evolved by the action of
solar heat on wet soil, and riscararith the watery vapor
from it. Whilo the san is below the horizon this va
por lingers near the earth’s surface, and the riru*
is token -with it through tho lungs into tltc blood.
There it acts as an irritating poison the internal
viscera and excreting organs of tltc body. The iirer
becomcs torpid and fails to secrete not only this virus,,
but also tho bile from tho blood. Botli the virus and
the bile accumulate In the circulation, and produce
violent constitutional disorder. The spleen, the kid
nevs, and tho stomach sympathize with the liver, and
become disordered nlso. Finally, the instinct of our
organism, as if in an attempt to expel the noxious.
infusion, concentrates tho whole blood of the body
iu the internal excretorics to force them to cast it oat.
The Wood leaves the surface, and rushes to the cen
tral organs with congcstivo violence. This is the
Ctiiu.. But in this effort it fails. Then the Fbtxb
follows, in which the blood leaves the central organ*
and rushes to the Btirface, as if in another effort to ex
pel the irritating poison through tho other great ex
cretory —the skin. In this also it fails, and the aye—
tem abandons the attempt exhausted, waiting for the
recovery of strength to repeat tho hopeless effort
another day. These are tho fits or paroxysms of Fa-
YKit axd Acck. Such constitutional disorder will
of course undermine the health if it is not removed.
We hare'labored to find, and have found, an an
tidote.
