k BLOODY FIGHT. TWO BE3IOES FALL OUT WHILE PLATIIG And Their Fun Ends in a Desperate Fight.—Jim Cameron Receives an Ugly Wound Under the Eye. Jim Cameron, who works on the place of Mr. Rodgers, and Frank Davenport got into a fight sbout5 bout three o’clock Saturday af arnoon. The affair started through the two negroes playing with each other. In some way Frank became mud and drew his knife and struck Jim a blow with the open bhtde over the eye. cut ting a bad gash. In a few mo ments after this, a crowd - having collected. Chief Harris appeared on the scene. Frauk Davenport seeing what he had done, had proceeded to remove his presence as rapidly as possible. But our vigilant Chief did not take many minutes to overhaul him and soon he was resting securely behind the bars. In a very short time Dr. Tug gle, the ' ayor protrm, had cal led up the case and fined Frank Davenport 5 dollars or twenty days on the streets, and Jim Cameron 1 dollar or five days on the streets. And thus the terrible affair was ended. “A word to the wise is sufllcient”nnd a word to the wise should be sufficient, but you ask, who are the wise? Those who know.
