Death of Mr. R. H. Buckley.
Mr. R. H- Buckley, one of La-
Grange’s best citizens, passed
away at his home iu this oity lasi.
Wednesday
[ He had been ill for several
months and while his death was
not unexpected, it was a sad
shock to his family and friends.
A native of Kentucky, Mr. Buck
ley came to Georgia a number of
years ago, and in 1883 he was
married to Miss Emma Harwell,
the only child of our present
Mayor, Mr. T J. Harwell. After
living in Atlanta a short time,
Mr. and Mrs. Buckley returned to
LaGrange and many warm friends
welcomed them to their old home,
Mr. Buckley was a prominent
insurance man until his delicate
health compelled him to enter
another business.
With all who knew him, he was
beloved as a true friend and gen
tleman, many are sorrowing with
his wife and family in thei*great
loss. He was forty-five years of
age and since his youth he was
a devoted and consistent mem
ber of the Baptist church. His
wife, three children and three
sisters survive him. One of his
sisters, Mrs. M, A. James, of
Gunnison, Miss., has been at his
beck side for several weeks.
The funeral services were held
in the Baptist church at 4 o’clock
on Thursday afternoon, Rev. A.
J. Moncrief, the pastor, ’ofiiciat
ting. The music was especially
appropriate and beautiful,
In Hill View cemetery the
«leeo?r was la : d to re«-t, all Suf
fering over filid all pain forgot
ten. The tenderest sympathy of
many friends are with the be
reaved family.
