A better commitee never left Griffin, nor any on a more important mission than these gentlemen. The result of this convention will, we hope, cause old Georgia to bloom and pros per as never before. Officer Phelps went to Atlanta yes terday morning and brought back Bruce Coppedge, the negro who stab bed tbe negro woman, Chapman, in this city on Sunday nigbt last. Bruce had just purchased a ticket for Chat tanooga and would soon have been on a moving train for that point, when an Atlanta detective nabbed him. Upon arriving in Griffin Bruce said he de sired to plead guilty, which was done, and he was fined S2O and all costs, or serve six months in the gang.
