A negro driving one of tbe wagons
for Newton Coal and Lumber Co, at
tempted to cross the track in front of
the down Central train yesterday af
ternoon. He was a little slow in get
ting over and was assisted by the cow
catcher on the engine, which demol
ished the wagon and frightened tbe
negro nearly to death. He jumped
from the wagon in time to save him
self and was not injured.

Ala., and Mias Mary Nunnally were
united in marriage yesterday morning
at 8 o’clock at the residence of tb«
bride’s mother, Mrs. J. A. Nunnally,
at her lovely country home about,
three miles from this city.
The ceremony was performed by
Rev. T. J. Christian, and was witnessed
by a large number of friends, who ex
tended their most sincere wishes for a
long and happy life to the couple.
