A. Gor don and R. 8. Ison raided the home of Bulab Stafford, a notorious negro wo man living in tbe southern suburbs of this city, Sunday and pulled fifteen negro gambles o.f ail ages and sex. It has been thought for some time ' that this place wae<boing run every Sunday as a gambling den, and the officers decided to make tbe raid at > noon on Sunday. It resulted in the city prison being badly crowded for a few days, but the sports will soon be added to Capt. Camp's charm string for a term of weeks. ‘Their oases will be tried before Judge Wm. Ellen Means, colored, was sent to the gang for 30 days for selling whits key. The cases against tbe gang of negro gamblers arrested Sunday were post poned until tomorrow afternoon.
