Yeeterday was a very warm day at Camp Norihen and little Was done outside of the regular routine duty. Guard mount was had at 9:30 in tbe morning, thereby establishing guard around tbe camp both day and night. As yet there is no officer of the day or junior or senior officer of the guard. The sentinels are under the supervis ion of a sergeant, who is commander of the guard. Yesterday afternoon three compa nies were issued gnus from tbe state’s property in tbe commissary depart ment at tbe camp ground. The re maining companies will receive their guns this morning. Miss Hand's handsome home is one of the most attractive in the community. It is beautifully furnished and bad an ad ditional charm Thursday eve, lent by the exquisite floral decorations of ferns and roses in hall, drawing room and dining room. Miss Hand is one of our most in teresting young ladies. Prof. C. B. Mathews has a flourishing school at this place. Dr. W. H. Touchstone was in town this ' afternoon for the first time in several days. C. B. Mathews and T. T.Williams spent Saturday with friends in Hollonville. Bev. R. M. Wallroven delivered a fine i discourse at Mt. Zion Sunday to a large audience.
