proceeded so far with his discovery of
a method of photographing objects
without the aid of light that bo is
hopeful of publishing a paper upon
the subject to the Royal society at an
early date. He has succeeded in tak

tirely in darkness.

Mill* have just completed the sale of

Columbus. The balance was placed
in New York, Atlanta and Charleston,

been expended on this property for
new machinery and betterments,

similar work $58,000.00, a total for im
provements of $197,346,32. The new
management will make these famous

An Ordinance to fix the term of office
the manner and time ot election of City
Attorney for the city of Gr In. Be it or
dained by the mayor and coancil of the
city of Griffin, and it is hereby ordained
by authority of same. That from and af
ter the passage of this ordinance the City
Attorney shall hold his office for the term
of two years and until his successor is
elected and qualified, and shall be elected
by ballot by the mayor and council of
said city at tbe last meeting in November,
1898, and at the same meeting bl-anually
thereafter. Be it farther ordained that all
ordinance? and parts of oidii ances in con
flict with this ordinance be, and the same
are hereby repealed.
