Suffering humanity should be «u[-

relief. It is with pleasure we publish
the following : '‘This is to certify that
i was a terrible sufferer from Yellow

treated by some of the best physicians
in our city and all to no avail. Dr
Bell, our druggist, recommended
Electric Bitters ; and after taking two

A Sea Trip on Dry Land-
One of the attractions of the Faris
exhibition is to be the Mareorama,
devised and painted by M. Hugo
d’Alesi, the well known poster artist.
After duly paying bis fee, the visitor
will pass a gangway and find himself
on the deck of a fir l class passenger
steamer, with captain, crew, rigging,
smoking funnels, and every other de
tail complete. Around stretches a
blue and sparkling sea, while behind
may be seen the port of Marseillies
fading away on the horizon. Ma
chinery imparts a pleasant rocking
motion to the fictitious vessel, and a
concealed fan makes a breeze as the
traveler|skims past Le Frioul and the
Chateau d'lf. The sun sets and rises
to reveal Naples and Vesuvius, and
having safely passed between Scylla
and Chanbudis, the good ship reaches
in a few minutes the hnrb r of Stas j n
funis. Venice will be the next ball
ing place, and finally the passengers
glide up the Boephoru-to Constanti
nople, but a storm must first be faced

G v Norihen hat b eti doit g good
wotk for several mouths in the direc
tion of having the gold fields of the
state worked He has succeeded in
getting some mining experts from
Colorado to visit the gold bearing sec
tions, and these experts are well
pleased with what they have seen.
They are so well pleased that they say
that all that is needed to develop the
gold mines of Georgia is a convenient
ly located smelter It is given out
that they are taking steps to establish
a smelting plant at some point con
venient to the mines. It is their
opinion that just as soon as there is a
market for the ore there will be great
activity in gold raining in all parts of
the state where it is known that gold
is to be found in paying quaintities
Some of the ore is of a high grade—
so high, in fact, that it compares
favorably with the best gtades of ores
found in Colorado. The most of the
ore, however, is of a low grade, To
mine it, therefore, with profit the rail
roads to which it is tributary will have
to carry it to the smelter at a low rate
of freight. Ex-Gov. Nortben is now
in correspondence with the railroads
with the view of finding out whether
they are willing to encourage the
movement to open up these mines of
low grade ores On the railroad will
depend to some extent the success of
the movement to put Georgia in a
high place among the gold-producing
states.
Just now there is a great deal of
excitement among the gold hunters of
Colorado on account of a big strike
that has been made in that state in
the Isabella mine. If the stories of
the strike are true the Isabella mine
promises to become one of the richest
gold mines in this country. If the
efforts of Ex-Gov. Northen to open
the mines of this state . are successful
we may be having news of big gold
strikes here in Georgia, which will be
no less exciting than that which
comes from Colorado once in a while.
