Id Memory of Little Seaton.
The beloved son of Mr. and Mrs.
Seaton Grantland who was taken to
the rest of Paradise April 16th.
On the beautiful afternoon of
Easter Day he marebed in the pro¬
cession of Sunday school scholars,
and entered the church singing “On- I
ward Christian Soldiers.” ;
Rest, little soldier, rest, !
And lay thy Banner down; |
The Cross of .Jesus has been borne,
Now wear the golden Crown.
Rest from the “onward’’ march, j
While yet the morn is bright;
Ere c'ouds of sorrow rise,
To end in gloomy night.
Rest, ’tis a weary road,
Toward our Father’s home
And many the foes we meet,
Who tempt our feet to roam.
Rest, ere the stain of siu, 1
And the lore of earthly dross.
Darkens the spotlesa brow,
Signed “with the sign of the Cresr .’’
We would not call thee back,
The last hard fight is o’er:
The foe whom thou bar*. ..quered,
Will strive with thee no more.
Safe, in the Shepherd’s fold.
Safe, on the Savior’s breast.
Our little “Christian Soldier,’’
