Whereas, The Democratic party

to the great <' ‘iitneut of the inter

,
which we greu. y deplore, and ear
neatly desiring an adjustment of the
difference which has thus divided the
party, and recognizing the fact that
there no longer exists any cause for
division. Therefore be it resolved
1st. That we accept the present
local option law now of force in the
county, as embodied in the act of
1887, and ktiown as the "Gardner

issue, and that we will ask no further

2nd. That on this platform we in
vite all Democrats of the county to

3rd. That we regard the effort
to divide tbe Democratic party by
what is known as tbe ‘Third party
movement” as unwise, ilftimed, and
calculated to work great injury,
not only to the Democratic party but
to the whole people, and so believing
we will discountenance tbe same.
4lb. That it is our purpose aud
intention to nominate f*cm the ranks
of the Democratic paity both for rep
resentatives and county officers the
very best men who can be induced
to serve us in those positions without
regard to their views on the question
of local option; regarding that ques
tion as settled by tbe act of 1S87.
5tb. That the Democrats of the
different districts of the county bo
requested to elect the number of del
egates to which they are entitled in
a convention to bo held at the court

inale two candidates for the next
general assembly of the State and
that at the same time they elect the
number of executive committee-men
to which each district is entitled, and
that in said election all Democrats of
the county are invited to participate
without regard to past differences on
local issues.
Gtb. That we most heartily en
