* When Green Griffith was convicted
of murder in the Pike connty court
recently, a piece of bone said to have
come out of the alleged murdered
man’s head played an important
part in the testimony. Since then
expert doctors have sworn that it
was not only impossible that the
bone could have come out of a man’s
head, but that it iras not a human
bone at all. A motion for a new trial
was heard on Wednesday and will
probably be granted.
Everybody, their families, kitis-
people and friends, all went to the
Sunday school picnic at CoM Spring.
The train left ’at 6 o’clock yester-

at 6 :S0 o’clock. The crowd was the
largest that ever attended on a sim¬
ilar occasion from this place ami
joyable day. There was no accident
of the most trivial character to mar
the pleasure of the little ones or the
children of huger growth, and the
fact that everyone was pleased,
speaks volumes for the managers of
the excursion.
