and vineyards. It has put up the largest
ruit evaporators in the State. It is the.hoine
oi the grape and its winemakingcapacity has
doubled every year. It has successfully in
angurated a system of public schools, with a
seven years curriculum, second to none.
This is part of the record of a half decade
and simply shows the progress of an already
admirable city with the natural advantages
of having the finest elimate, summer and
winter, in the world.
Griffin is the county seat of Spalding coun¬
ty, situated in west Middle Georgia, with a
healthy, fertile and rolling country, 1150 feet
above sea level. By the census of 1800, it
