The monthly statement of the
earnings and expenses of the Central
railroad system for September shows
that the net earnings of tt»e road art-
greater than the earnings for the
corresponding month last year. The
statement cowers the earnings ofcthe
Central railroad nnd leased lines, the
Montgomery and Eufauln railroad,
the Savannah aid Western railroad,
the Ocean Steamship Company, the
New England and.Savannah Steam¬
ship Company, and the Central Kail-
road Bank.
The monthly statement shows the
earnings for 1889 as $852,068.86
for 1888 as $636,361.38 expenses,
1889, which include betterments and
taxes, as $533,512.19 for 1888 as
against $387,892.28, showing net
earnings for 1889 of $318,551.67, as
against net earnings for 1889 of
$258,469.10.

A Runaway Accident.
A horse belonging to D. J. Bailey,
Jr., rau away yesterday about noon
on Solomon street, starting some

M’f'g Co., the wagon that he was at¬
tached to became uncoupled and he
continued to run with the front
wheels behind him. As the rig cross¬
ed the railroad it rjyn into the buggy
of H. It. Remshart, turning the vehic¬
le over and throwing out the ladies,
Mrs. Remshart and Miss Anna Belle
Moss, who were in the buggy at the
time, and who sustained painful in¬
juries, Miss Moss being the more se¬
verely hurt of the two.
The horse continued his wild race
out Solomon street and a f ter pass¬
ing the residence of J.fH. White, he
turned diagonally across Tenth
street and ran through the front
fence of Walter Walcott, ran around
his house coming out near the same
place he went in and was stopped
near the Keith plnee. Mr. Items
hart’s buggy was eonsiderably
damaged. The negro who was driv¬
ing the wagon was spilt out when
it became uncoupled.

both the ladies were resting easily.

Time**.
The fall term of Henry county Su
perior Court convened last Monday
Judge J. S. Boynton presiding. The
court opened under most favorable
conditions, the weather being re¬
markably pleasant, hand and a large day. at¬
tendance was on each
Judge Boynton's charge to the
grand jury was delivered in his usual
impressive and scholarly manner,
and showed his thorough under¬
standing of the law and the applica¬
tion of the same in all its branches,
besides impressing all present with
the responsibility discharge resting of his upon duty. each A
juror in the
large amount of business has been
transacted during the week, and we
think the congratulate people of Flint themselves judicial cir¬
cuit may on
having one of the best and most
erudite judges to he found in the
state.
Judge Boynton showed up in the
role of a first class wag the other
day in making a reply to Col. Doyal,
of Jonesboro. In arguing a case
Col. Doyal remarked that it seemed
to be an opinion big John generally indulged little in
that it wus Grant and
Bug Coogler, big Judge Turner and
Col. Reagan, und simlin headed
Spencer and ’possum headed Doyal.
Judge Turner remarked that Col.
Doyal was stepping beyond the lim¬
its. Judge Boynton ruled that other Col.
Doyal should not state any
