Gentlemen In accordance with a
resolution adopted January 9tb, 1882,
authorizing tho Finance Committee to
destroy all mutilated city currency in
the bauds of the Clerk and Treasurer,
we bog leave to report that we havo this
day iu the presence of Messrs. Jno. It.
Shaw nnd T. E. Joiner, burned the sum
of seventeen hundred and sixty-four dol
lars and 75 cts., ($1,784.75) being amount
of said currency in tho hands of the
Clerk and Treasnrer.

bu more grain made this year than any
year siuc** tUp war, which will bo greatly
needed to help out short corn crops.
Most of our farmers say that they won’t
buy any corn uoxt year. I guess they mean
that they are going to raise it ut home. I
can’t tell you anything about my melons
yet, as they aro too young. I will let you
hear from them later. I havo several
bushels of my celebrated seed to sell.
If you should see any one wanting the
finest mellon seed in the world, ask him
to correspond with me and I will tell
him when lie can get thorn, and also
what they will cost. Xcuse rue for writ
ing so much. I will close by saying the
health of our county was never better.

monial market very dull, owing to small
stocks and a poor assortment. You kuow
any business is dull unless you have «
good stock. I tkink we will have a wed
ding in tho settlement soon, but don’t
know anything about the particulars, aud
am afraid to say anything about it now.
