Judge Crisp was introduced by by Mr. Hodge, and proceeded to disouss the differences between the Democratic and Republican parties to the entire satisfaction of bis audience. He also spoke of certain matters that had been before the last session of Congress, and ex pressed his position on several questions, lie said that the United States treasury now contained four hundred millions of dollars that had been taken from the people by high taxation; that the policy of the Republican party is to keep the people poor by heavy taxation. The Republican party now boasts of a full treasury, while it is a sad fact that thonsamla of poor people- are out of employment, and nu prospects for an improvement in the situation. Judge Crisp said that lie expect ed to have opposition in his elec tion for Congress. It hail been currently reported that B. F. Bell would be nominated for Congress hy the Republicans of this district.
