This mammoth organization which will appear in Americas Monday, Oct. 27, is, without a doubt, one of the largest and best shows that has ever been placed on the road. Read wbat the Louis, ville Courier-Journal says: “John B. Doris' N'ew Monster Shows, consolidated with the Great Inter Oceun, contains all the nov cities known to the circus world. The menagerie and ring depart- ment have been enlarged since last season, and now are the com- pletcst ever given to the public. N'o show in the country can sur pass Doris’ in the extent and va riety of its features, and certainly there is no manager who has so uniformly and unvaryingly satis- lied his numerous patrons and it is impossible to enumerate all the special attractions of this mammoth show. There are over forty differ ent acts to lie seen in its three rings und on the elevated stage. These acts embrace, besides the ordinary circus performances ot riding, tumbling, leaping, etc., such now and astonishing features us u troupe ot performing Turks, also in the ring the sacred white- spotted elephant, ‘'TlicodoruB,” ae rial Bicyclists, Roller Skaters, Trick Kicphants, trained animals and wild beasts are to be seen in profusion, nnd every kind of enter- tainment calculated to delight the human heart is to he found under Doris’ monster canvas. The press in general is unanimous in declar ing it tbe best circus and menag erie on the road.” and when these are merged into a voice of exceptional melody and expression the audience is more than charmed with the little sou- brette. Miss hosa Ins appeared previously before a Louisville au dience, but never as a star. Hav ing for tbe first time presented herself as a candidate for popular la vor, it requires no prophetic vision to see that from this out she is sure to be little, it any, less to us than Lotla has so long been. Tbe se lection of a play for ber first up pearance is a most happy one. In the title role she has full scope for all ber powers, and right well she improves every opportunity pre sented. Her performance at every point was enthusiastically applaud ed, and when singing, it appeared that no number of encores would satisfy her bearers. In the latter particular it must be said that her rendition of the original song, “My Caroline,” was amusing and de lightful to a degree of enthusiasm that knew no bounds. Tbe support is excellent. It is in (act the most careiully selected and strongest company that bus ever appeared here this season. The scenery is especially artistic and attractive, and altogether it is tbe most thoroughly delightful evening's entertainment that has yet held the hoards at any of our theatres. seated throughout the week.
